Event: Gavin Seim 5/1/16

Gavin Seim is in the area.  He is from Washington State and is trying to spread the word on the ungodly government actions against ranchers and others in Oregon and Nevada.

Gavin is schedule to speak, this Sunday, May 1st, 11:00 AM, at:

God’s Country Church
17550 Wheeler-Green Rd
Marysville, OH 43040

For those of you who do not know, Gavin Seim is one of the people who helped save four individuals from being assassinated by Federal and Oregon state law enforcement.  The four individuals were camped outside at the Malheur Wildlife Refuge in Oregon. They were hurting no one, and just wanted to go home after LaVoy Finicum was assassinated.  Gavin set up the phone calls and live streaming to over 70,000 people which probably saved the four lives.  Since then, the federal government and state governments of Nevada and Oregon have imprisoned, in solitary confinement, the people whose crime, was at most trespassing. Their real threat was educating people about their Constitutional rights.  Cliven Bundy has been denied the lawyer of his choice to defend himself.  Ammon Bundy was not fed for two days in prison and is required to defend himself simultaneously in both Oregon and Nevada.  Gavin is on a tour of the United States to try and alert people as to what is going on.  At this time, attorneys for the defendants have had their motions in court ignored, and have not been able to examine the shot-up vehicle in which LeVoy Finicum was driving. FADA 4/26/16

First Amendment Defense Act (FADA): Across the country state legislators and governors are considering bills that would protect individuals, organizations, and businesses who believe marriage is the union between one man and one woman. Unfortunately, under opposition from liberal special interest groups and big business, many state governments are scared to pass such legislation. House Republicans in Washington, D.C. have an opportunity to provide leadership and political cover for state governments by passing FADA.

FADA has the support of 167 co-sponsors yet House Leadership has failed to consider the bill in committee or schedule a vote on the House floor. Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT), chairman of the House – Oversight and Government Reform committee, has expressed a willingness to hold a hearing on FADA, but has not promised a markup of the bill that is essential for passage.

Heritage Action created a website calling on Congress to pass FADA, H.R. 2802, and listing the members of Congress who cosponsored the bill. Please visit the page here and urge your member to encourage Chaffetz and Leadership to move the bill through committee by scheduling a markup and House floor vote. Heritage Action also created a website with a list of members who haven’t co-sponsored FADA which you can find here. For the full list of members on the House – Oversight and Government Reform committee click here.

FOOF Meeting 4/25/16

Scheduled this week is the first session of the Dietrich Bonhoeffer series which will be lead by Mark Locher.  Discussion will include situations where the church (Paul in particular) was engaged by the state, and also discussing a few Bible verses regarding culture and Christianity.

Planning Ahead

May 16th, Speaker Pastor Dave Mann.  Dave, his wife Pam and family have lived outside the U.S. for over 20 years — in France, Cameroon, Haiti, and Morocco.  They have worked in multiple languages – French, Fulfulde, Creole, and had begun working on Tashelhit before returning to the U.S. in March of 2015.   Pastor Dave currently is deployed by UALC to be pastor for internationals, both immigrants and students.  His goal is not only to reach out to internationals himself, but also to inspire and equip many others to do the same.  It is exciting and invigorating to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with people who have never heard it before.  This is something that can happen right here in central Ohio!
