Institute on the Constitution (IOTC) Leadership Training

Ricki Pepin will be teaching the IOTC Leadership Training course here in Columbus for graduates of the IOTC U.S. Constitution course! Please mark your calendars for Saturday, March 29, 2014, 10 AM – 3 PM. I need a head count of attendees, so we can supply the needed materials. Married couples can share. Please CONTACT US if you plan to attend.

WHEN:  Saturday, March 29, 2014 – 10 AM-3 PM
WHERE:  Upper Arlington Lutheran Church
2300 Lytham Road
Upper Arlington, Ohio 43220

You do not have to be IOTC graduates to attend.  It is easier to understand the materials if you have taken the course, but it is not required.  You will “get it” as we proceed through the lessons.

This leadership training is the road map for restoration of our Constitutional Republic! It will help us understand teaching principles we need to multiply the message of properly understanding the Constitution by exposing the Biblical Worldview of America’s Founders, namely that:

  •   There is a God, the God of the Bible
  •   Our rights come from Him, and
  •   The purpose of civil government is to secure our God-given rights.

The class will run on Saturday, March 29th from 10 AM – 3 PM.

Ricki asks all to arrive no later than 9:45 AM so we can get materials to you and actually START the class by 10 AM.

Tuition and lunch money will be collected as you arrive for class and get materials. A box lunch can be purchased for $10 (lunch details to follow later), but we make no time to go out and get lunch, so if students do not purchase the box lunch, be sure to pack one. We have a “working lunch” – only about a 15 minute break before getting back into my teaching. (Students can continue eating at this time, only Ricki needs to be done!)

Minimum purchase for materials is $40. This includes:

  • 130-page Teacher’s Manual – “U. S. Constitution and Principle Approach Teacher’s ‘FEET’ Manual”;
  • CD with all the documents of this “Feet” Manual;
  • DVD entitled “Multiplying the Message.”

Couples can share one set. There will be other optional materials available for purchase as well, so bring extra cash/check (no credit card capability). On the day of class, please bring your IOTC Student Manual (if you have one), and if anyone has already purchased a Host Kit, also bring along the small manual entitled, “Host Lecture Kit.” This contains the answer key (and a few other goodies) for the Student Manual. Ricki will have a few “loaners” to give out for class time, but not enough for all.

Ricki will be teaching using the Eidsmoe IOTC Leadership Materials, not the Peroutka materials. However, they are similar enough that bringing Peroutka materials will still be helpful. Eidsmoe would be best. We’ll be discussing the differences between Eidsmoe & Peroutka in class to enable students to figure out which they would prefer to use.

Registration deadline is March 15th, so invite your friends now to ensure enough time to print or order sufficient materials.

Kelly Monroe Kullberg – Evangelicals for Biblical Immigration

Kelly Monroe Kullberg will be speaking to us this coming Monday, September 9, 2013 concerning her work as the founder of Evangelicals for Biblical Immigration.

Kelly will share her journey of faith outside the relative safety of the ivory towers and into the battle for our nation. David, her novelist husband, is to blame for Kelly’s wake-up call. He will join her.

In 2000, David wrote the novel, The War Against God which, years later, catalyzed the Kullberg’s interest in the funding streams and rhetorical strategies of “evangelicals” behind the Obama administration and its policies. They’ll be telling this story of life imitating art. Of truth even stranger than fiction.

Conversation will include the whole counsel of Scripture in relation to the immigration bill and the “evangelical leaders” promoting it. While we all may agree that reform is necessary, we do not all agree that the 1,200-page Gang of Eight bill is the needed reform.

Kelly founded The Veritas Forum now in 130 universities around the world contending for the truth, Veritas, of Jesus Christ. She edited/co-authored bestseller Finding God at Harvard and authored the sequel, Finding God Beyond Harvard: The Quest for Veritas. Together the Kullbergs co-authored A Faith and Culture Devotional.

Summer Picnic Plans!

FOOFers,

Our summer picnic is scheduled for Monday, June 17th from 7-9 PM @ the Fancyburg Park shelter house.  A map is shown on this link.
http://www.meetup.com/The-Central-Ohio-912-Meetup-Group/events/120013122/

Please invite your friends and neighbors to this Fellowship of Believers!  Fancyburg has a great playground for kids!

I have invited a young Wycliffe Bible Translator missionary friend to join us!  Hasso Pape (www.wycliffe.me/hasso) grew up in Upper Arlington, and is preparing to join a team of software developers in Texas to create programs that assist translators with storing, sorting, comparing and preparing data for publication, allowing technology to tackle tedious translation tasks.  Wycliffe is committed to seeing Scripture translation in progress for every language still needing a Bible in their own mother tongue by 2025.  (http://www.wycliffe.org)  Hasso will spend a few minutes sharing his work and inviting us to join him in the process of bringing the Word of God to remote people groups.

At our last meeting, we collected enough money to pay for the facility rental.  Since it would be incredibly hard (and expensive) to anticipate how much meat to purchase for grilling, we will supply the charcoal and have a fire burning and ready for any meat each of you want to bring.  (Please bring any needed buns as well.)

In addition, we will set up tables for pot luck contributions.   If everyone brings one entrée or side item, and one dessert (knowing how FOOFers like sweets), there should be plenty for all…!

I will bring table settings, paper products and condiments – and will have coolers of ice with a selection of drinks available.  You are encouraged to bring additional beverages as desired.  (Per UA park policies, alcohol is prohibited in parks and facilities at all times.)

Please respond to this post if you intend to come, with a number estimate (kids and adults).

Join us as we imitate the pattern set up for us by the early church!
Acts 2:42  “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”

We Are The Church!
